CCMA Readiness Score
3 min read — Updated February 2026
What It Measures
The CCMA Readiness Score rates your protection level as LOW, MEDIUM, or HIGH for each employee. It measures how well-prepared you are if that employee disputes their employment or dismissal at the CCMA.
What Affects Your Score
The score is based on:
- Employment contract — is there a signed contract? (Major factor)
- Payslip history — are payslips generated consistently each pay period?
- Payment records — is there proof of payment attached to payslips?
- Disciplinary records — are warnings documented properly?
- Compliance status — UIF, COIDA, minimum wage all checked
- Leave records — is leave being tracked?
How to Improve Your Score
Each factor that's missing or incomplete lowers your score. The CCMA Dashboard shows exactly what needs attention for each employee. Click on any item to take action — generate a contract, create a payslip, upload payment proof, etc.
Aim for HIGH readiness on every employee. It takes just a few minutes to address each item, and it could save you tens of thousands of rands at the CCMA.
